<p><a href="http://fll.lafayette.edu/files/2010/08/Bachmann-Exhibit-300x225.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-2417 alignright" src="http://fll.lafayette.edu/files/2010/08/Bachmann-Exhibit-300x225.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a>Throughout the month of September, the Max Kade Center for German Studies will host an exhibit on the Austrian writer Ingeborg Bachmann entitled Writing Against War. The theme of this exhibit is war and its connection to Ingeborg Bachmann, the most influential female writer after World War II in the German-speaking world. The exhibit coincides with the Class of 2014 summer orientation theme,Waging War; Staging Peace.</p>
<p>Several large panels will be on display in the lobby of Pardee Hall from August 30th through September 30th. An opening ceremony and reception will be held on Thursday, September 9th, from 4:30-6pm in the lobby of Pardee Hall. Three experts will discuss Bachmann’s work, and Dean Stewart-Gambino will comment on its connection to the orientation theme and summer reading assignment, Pat Barker’s Regeneration.</p>
